DeWayne Walling and his son were 12 miles southeast of
Sonora, Texas when this 19.5 lbs, 9.0" bearded bird with 1" spurs fell forever. On 4.20.03, DeWayne's son was video taping 6 toms strutting with 10
hens at 100 yards.
The Dad & son team finally coaxed one tom away long enough for him to catch sight of
the decoys. The bird's eye was ready to challenge the jake decoy in particular. At 7:30
A.M. ... boom ... the bird realized the decoy wasn't real.

Ray
Cartonia, Rochester, New
York. This dandy 24 pound Nebraska gobbler (Merriams sub-species) was
significantly different to hunt than eastern gobblers according to Ray. Yes they are
Ray, but well worth your long trip to Nebraska. |

Dr.
David Randall's Missouri
gobbler at a range of 5 yards from one of The Turkey Pro's blinds. The Turkey Pro put the Dr. in a perfect strut zone location for this
hunt. The lone gobbler couldn't resist the 13 decoys that the Dr. and The Turkey Pro
set out. The bird weighed 21 pounds, with 1" spurs, and a 10" beard.

Dr.
David Randall, Lucas, IA, with
the fine Missouri gobbler shown above. Note the set-up...camouflaged ground blind
located on the edge of a winter wheat field. Turkeys key in on these green-field
feeding locations, especially early in the season.

Dr.
David Randall's feather/shell
ritual. Every time the Dr. bags a gobbler, he pulls a wing feather and pushes it
through a slit in the empty shotgun shell casing and leaves it where the gobbler fell.
A great ritual that you might want to start yourself. |

Mike Teal, Hickman County,
TN. This hunter
is the epitome of patience .... patience while watching .... this 21 pound hotshot bird
with hens for 3 hours. That's how long it took for Mike to get this gobbler with
the 9.5" beard and fighting 1.25" spurs in gun range.

Larry
Wilkins, Henderson, NC
with a nice spring gobbler bagged on April 13. It sported an 8" beard, weighed
18 pounds, and had 3/4" spurs. The bird was bagged the morning after Larry and
The Turkey Pro emailed each other back and forth on how to lure in this wary bird. |
