The
Turkey Pro, Roger Raisch with his first week's 1999 spring gobbler from
Missouri. The bird weighed 20 pounds, and sported a 10 1/4" beard, with 1 inch
spurs. The bow-killed bird was lured into 5 yards with a Delta Supreme Feeding Hot Hen Decoy,
experienced calling strategy, and an excellent feeding/strutting zone location. The
use of a Universal Ground Blind
was also used in order to get a close-range shot.

Tom Herreid, Iowa,
with a nice gobbler bagged with bow and arrow on April 12, the first day of the 1999
season, at 7:05 a.m. Tom reported that the bird came right in to within 20
yards. Obviously Tom had the birds scouted, and, when combined with a ground blind,
turkey hunting with bow can be quite simple. But....on the other hand....those
?#%^& spring gobblers can be down right frustrating with a stick and string too!
