The
Turkey Pro, Roger Raisch and John Leschensky, Waukon, Iowa with two 1999 Kansas gobblers taken on April 21.
John's bird was a super jake weighing 16 pounds. Roger's adult gobbler weighed 23
pounds, with needle-sharp 1 1/4" curved spurs and a 10 1/2" beard. Prior
evening roosting helped make the difference.

Turkey
Addict, Steve Steadman, Onalaska, WI with his first Kansas gobbler bagged
on April 18, 1999. Using the contour of the land to stay out of site, Steve was able
to approach 3 gobblers within 100 yards late in the afternoon. One of the birds, a
23 pounder, came to within 18 yards of Steve's set up at 4:55 p.m. The gobbler
sported a 11.5" beard with 1 1/4" spurs. Afternoon hunting can be
excellent....just ask Steve!

Rob Blanton, Madison,
WI is one happy young man with his first gobbler. The tom weighed 20.8 pounds, had a
10" beard with 3/4" spurs. The gobbler was called in at 6:55 a.m. The bird
was called in with a Yellow
Yelper mouth call from over 200 yards away. Steve Steadman, Onalaska, WI accompanied Rob on the hunt.
